Sa Riera – Catalonia (Spain)
LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
Located in the north of the municipality of Begur (in the region of the Baix Empordà), Sa Riera is the biggest cove of the locality (1). With a length of 300 metres and a width of 100 metres (2), it is known in all parts for its fine golden sand, and for the wide variety of services on offer. Accessible from Begur town centre, the walk rewards one with some captivating views of the Medas Islands (3).

PARADISIACAL BEACH
This enormous, essentially family beach is one of the most beautiful of the Catalan coast and presents one with an unforgettable sea bathing experience. The coastal path allows one to reach neighbouring beaches which are also accessible with small boats.
SERVICES
Not every beach can boast that it has so many services: showers, a wooden walkway that takes one on to the sand (accessible to those with reduced mobility), restaurants, bars and establishments to carry out sports and nautical activities.

CUISINE
Sa Riera’s restaurants (and all of those in Begur) offer fish, meat and vegetable dishes where the celebrated rockfish, highly appreciated by lovers of the cuisine of the Empordà for its taste and quality, stand out. Every year, the Rockfish Gastronomic Campaign pays homage to this product of the sea.
