LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
Surrounded by earth and sea, Llançà is located between two protected natural spaces, within the region of the Alt Empordà (1). This locality occupies a territory of 28 km2 and has a population of nearly 5,000 (2), which increases during the summer. Well connected by road and rail with the principal cities of Catalonia and the south of France, it is one of the few towns on the Costa Brava connected by train (3).

NATURE AND ACTIVE TOURISM
The Natural Park of Cabo de Creus and the Park of Albera are unmissable allowing one to experience a spectacle of Mediterranean landscapes. CUISINE
Llançà is a good example of the region’s cuisine: Mediterranean gastronomy based on fish, shellfish and rice dishes, as demonstrated by its gastronomic days: “Pescado de palangre” (dedicated to long-line fishing) and the “La Cigala de Llançà” (dedicated to the Llançà langoustine), which can be enjoyed in a great part of the town’s bars and restaurants.
